Hi, I’m Lance Taylor and this is my business – Plain to Insane Custom Paint. My web guy says I have to write a page about myself – sounds like homework to me, that’s probably why it’s taken 6 months for me to do it! So here it goes. As you can tell school wasn’t really my “thing”, but I liked Art class & I was told I was pretty good so hopefully I’ve found a way to do what I enjoy & make a living at the same time. I got away from the hand lettering until a few years ago when I met up with some guys doing Rat Fink reunions & charity panel jams, then look out! I’ve been pinstriping everything that sits still long enough. (That includes cute models at the motorcycle shows) Hey it’s a living, sometimes you just gotta suck it up and do the tuff job that’s in front of ya!
I found out people wanted more than pinstriping, so I dug out my airbrush & got back into the cloud of paint, man I forgot what I’d been missing, this is cool! Except when the paint has a mind of it’s own, then it can be a real test of patients. I really like to combine both, airbrushing & pinstriping, especially on motorcycle tanks & fenders.
Living in Howe, Indiana, I was skeptical about the amount of business I,d be able to do, but I’ve been surprised how many people want custom paint, hand painted lettering & pinstriping on their motorcycles & show cars. With shipping as convenient as it is, I can do a custom paint job on motorcycle tanks & fenders, then ship them anywhere.
Well I hope this gets my web guy off my back & gives you some insight into Plain to Insane Custom Paint, because I got into this to paint stuff, not to do homework!
This is where the rubber meets the road so to speak, or is it where the s**t hits the fan? I guess as Kidd Rock says Only God knows why!
